39 & TTC - Temps hover coverline

May 25, 2020 at 8:04 pmHi. I have only recently started charting and notice my temps are hovering the cover line. Wondering if my temps seem pretty low? I was recently tested for my TSH levels which came back at 3.5, and I know the ideal for TTC is 2.5. (Taking levothyroxine now). Just wondering if the chart looks normal or if my temps look low. Also, it seems I ovulated on Day 14, the day before PK day. Am I reading that correctly.

May 25, 2020 at 9:11 pmCompared to mine, your temps are not what I would call particularly low. My cover line has been at 96.9 every month, meaning my early cycle temps are below that, and luteal phase temps just above (I had a blood test which included thyroid check earlier in the year and nothing was abnormal). Try not to stress too much about it - you will probably notice similar temperature each month as you continue to chart. Some of us just have a lower basal temperature as a baseline.

May 26, 2020 at 8:59 amThank you. I was starting to get concerned because I read that low temps could mean a leutal phase defect or low progesterone. The two week wait is tough. I was hoping to be pregnant but I don't think so becuase my cervix came down low again.

May 26, 2020 at 11:47 amYou have two possible ovulation days, CD 14 and CD 15. CD 15 and the cover line populated look fine and in range. My understanding of low luteal phase temps would be consistently below the cover line, which I am not seeing for you.

June 2, 2020 at 9:28 pmHi!!!! Oh my, yes! You noticed! I took a test yesterday morning, two days before my expected period and it was positive! I couldn’t believe it. I never imagined in a million years that’s at the age of 39.5 and trying only 1 month that I’d get pregnant so easily. I feel like it’s a miracle! I can’t believe it. I have an appt tomorrow for a blood test to confirm. :)

June 4, 2020 at 11:26 amI am just over 40 and we’re trying for our first. I have been charting temps for about 4 months and off BC for about 14 months.

Getting a positive so quickly is a wonderful miracle. Baby dust to you!
