Due in October, November, December 2016

March 18, 2016 at 8:40 pmHey ladies! The doesn't look like there is a group for Oct, Nov, Dec yet so I figured I'd start one since I know there are a few other ladies that have their due dates around mine!
So I just got my BFP this morning for baby #2! It took us a year and a half to conceive my DD and this time by some miracle it worked the first try! It's still hard to believe that it's happening and so fast! My due date is Nov 27th based on conception date (thanks to ovacue).
Tests are in my profile, I'm planning on testing again tomorrow morning to make sure they are darker. And then we will tell our immediate families! I went to the Drs tonight to get the paperwork for some blood tests so I'll be doing my first blood draw tomorrow probably and then twice more afterwards. Hopefully an ultrasound just after Easter to confirm that it's not ectopic again.
Wishing all of us a happy and healthy pregnancy and birth!! :-)

I remember reading a year or so ago about how lunar cycles line up with menstrual cycles in women who aren't exposed to a lot of artificial light at night. DH and I are both Total darkness sleepers (not even an alarm clock light) so I thought I'd test it out. I think I might be backwards- pretty sure the idea was to start a cycle on the full moon and ovulate on the new moon. And I'm pretty sure I do the opposite? I can't remember. But it always happens like clockwork, it happens the same for me each month. Anyhow, I got to looking around online to see if moon phases also affect births. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for.. But I did find this: www.almanac.com/content/using-moon-predict-your-childs-birthdate
Just for fun, any mom's of 2+ have this hold true? Or anyone with siblings find this holding true for your own mom?
Any other old wives tales you find intriguing?

One old wives tale that I read awhile back was that you would know you were pregnant when your dog started sitting on you. I have a 75-pound dog and from the day I ovulated this month she started jumping on my lap every time I sat down on the couch! It really makes me wonder how a dog could possibly know something like that, but maybe there is something to that one too

A friend of mine from work was telling me just the other day that her grandmother has predicted every kid in their family with 100% accuracy based on moons. It's an interesting concept!

Jtrimble, she predicted their due dates by the moon? It's fascinating for sure! I bet it has something to do with the gravitational pull effects the moon has on water! It just effect us all a little differently and our bodies respond! I garden a lot, and there are certain lunar phases you are supposed to plant in for successful plant growth. I bet the moon effects more than we even realize!

That is very interesting about the moon predictions. My son was induced and born via c-section so I won't be able to tell with this one.
How is everyone doing? Any new symptoms? Last week I developed exhaustion. I could have fallen asleep standing!

I honestly feel almost completely normal so far. The only symptom I have noticed is that I've woke up starving in the middle of the night twice now. The first time it happened I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but it was not to be ignored lol. I eventually got up and went and got a snack and then went back to bed and fell right back asleep. That was pretty weird for me - I don't think I've ever gotten up to get a snack in the middle of the night before. So after the first time I just put a granola bar on my nightstand in case it happened again.
I have to travel across the country for work next week (the 11th - 15th), so I am actually hoping that feeling normal continues for me until after that trip. That could be a very miserable week if morning sickness hits.
How is everyone else doing?

Anna, I hear you on the snacking! I was never one to wake up at night, and now at 2:00 every night I wake up for my pee and cracker break haha. Hoping you make it through your trip uneventfully!!

I've also been so completely exhausted! I am not what I would call a napper, and I zonked out for three hours yesterday afternoon, and four hours today! Of course I've had a migraine on top of that (intensified by the aforementioned cologne), which definitely stinks because all I can take is Tylenol...
And what is with this nasal congestion?! It's driving me bonkers. I've got a humidifier going, I've tried extra pillows, and I still can't breathe very well. I think the worst is that DH keeps waking me because I'm snoring. Sorry, I can't help it!!! Just let me go lol (He really has been super great and helpful otherwise, though!)
What are you girls looking forward to? Nervous for?

Im looking forward to my dr appoontments, to feeling my uterus start sticking out over my pubic bone, to getting a bump and feeling baby move, and to learning the gender (if we go that route!). I'm still nervous about mc even though things seem to be progressing nicely, and of course I think it's normal to be nervous that I'm doing something wrong that will harm baby. I really want to slow down and enjoy this pregnancy (yucky feelings and all), instead of wishing it away worrying something is wrong. I've been pretty good at relaxing and going with it lately, I'm a lot less anal about everything than I thought I would be. Going into it I thought I'd eat only organic whole foods and stay away from all toxins and switch to organic bedding, and instead I'm living on gold fish and pizzaa and using my cell phone constantly :/ not proud to admit I've slacked on my goals and ideals, but glad that I'm not driving everyone around me insane being the other way! I even had a sub the other day (meat reheated first of course to kill listeria!)
How about you? What are you looking forward to and nervous about, jtrimble?

Good luck on your trip anna!
Speaking of dogs, I have a miniture daschund who is so hyper! She drives me insane lol but latley, she has been being such a sweetheart and laying down with me and cuddling..something she just hasnt done before! Id like to think she knows whats going on but i think shes just growing out of the puppy stage (shes a 1yr 7m).
Annie, i have been thinking it could be a possibility for you having twins because of your symptoms! DH and I would LOVE to have twins! I'm really not sure what's so appealing about it either lol my mom just informed me yesterday that my great great grandma had a set of twins. So there's a glimmer of hope for us lol I pray you transition into your 6th week with no worsening symptoms!
So far I'm excited for doctors appointments. Our first ultrasound is tuesday, and I'm honestly so scared. I'm obviously nervous about mc, but I'm sure after I get to a comfortable point I'll start becoming nervous about other things (like birth and just having a baby in general!)
And I can't wait to have a baby bump!! Come on twins! Lol

The thought of twins terrifies me! There is a set of twins in my mom's generation of our family, so there's a small (tiny, I hope!) chance. I just want to see one healthy little baby when I go in on the 14th :)
One thing I don't like so far is not really knowing if something is "safe" to eat/do etc while pregnant. I'd been using my regular moisturizer and zit cream with no thought and then had an "oh, sh_t" moment the other day and wondered if they were safe to use. Seems like benzoyl peroxide creams are okay, salicylic acid creams no...so that was okay. Definitely ate lunch meat for several days before I got the positive test too. I figure since I didn't get sick, then it's probably fine but I won't eat it now :) So much thought all the time!

I had been temping for the first couple weeks, and when I had a couple dip below my triphasic cluster, I freaked myself out about mc, so I decided to stop. I haven't had any severe pains or bleeding, so I'm going to put myself in the camp of "everything's fine unless they say it's not" which is uncharacteristic of my strong Type A personality! But I think it's the more mentally healthy approach right now. Once I'm more comfortable in the second trimester I'm sure I'll kick back up on being anal about the nursery and organic cloth diapers and the like lol
I've had four people now tell me they're hoping for twins (well, one said triplets!). I've kindly asked them all to bite their tongues lol. Multiples don't run in either of our families, but as they remind me, there's a first time for everything! I don't think we'll know what to do with ONE baby, let alone two or even three. But I guess we'll figure it out like people have done for millennia.
DH and I are about to try our first session of prenatal yoga, and I think he's more excited than I am. I just want to go to bed! ;)

Bd2016, isn't it weird how you hope for more symptoms? Like I'd be OK with feeling more nauseous just because it would make me less anxious lol weird
Crazy how a few of us have had twins on the mind (whether we're looking forward to that or not), I wonder if someone in this thread will have a set?

Jtrimble and Annie, I feel for you with the nausea
I hope it doesn't get any worse at 6 weeks. And I agree with the other ladies, Annie, it does sound like there's a good possibility you could be having twins! My sister-in-law totally freaked me out when we told her and said she thought we were definitely having twins because they apparently run in my husband's family. I didn't know it was something that ran in families so I looked into it and was relieved to find that it's the mother's family that matters, not the father's. As you said, I'm sure I would get excited after I got used to the idea, but two babies at once just sounds so overwhelming!
Good luck at your ultrasound, Lauren! Let us know how it goes

Annie- have you had any hcg draws? Don't worry about twins till you have to:) I had really high hcg numbers with my frist and was worried too there was more than one:) but I just got Elise!:) girls tend to have a higher hcg in general so perhaps it's a girl and your body just doesn't handle the hormone as well as others:) remember people like Princess Kate are hospitalized for just one baby:)
Can't wait to see your upcoming ultrasound pics :) such an exciting time!
I'm 15w today! I'm pretty much over the tiredness...woo hoo! As others I feel very normal- so I'm totally getting the i didn't know I was pg show! I don't have much of a belly either- it's very tiny and my pants still fit- just tight lol:) my last doc appt it took her awhile to find the hb as baby kept moving- I may be in for it with this one lol!:)

Jtrimble, we sound so much alike. We are going to cloth diaper and I am absolutely anal about what furniture and gear gets used with baby. It's a lot to think about now, but I've been slowly researching a little bit each day on different items. I think once I'm in less of a fog I will get more searching done each day. Do you have a cloth diapers brand picked out? I dont know anyone personally whose done it, so I feel like I'm on my own with the internet to decide.I Broke down and used a little Vicks last night (just a dab). I woke up at 2 am and could NOT breathe. So I started searching and everything I found was people saying their OB's said it was safe, plus a few doctors on those "ask a Dr" websites also saying it was fine. I don't plan to make it a regular habit, and I'll still ask at my appointment, but I really doubt the thin little bit I applied will do any harm that one time. One Dr even suggested using the pulg ins which are amazing if you've never tried them. I did see one contradictory comment mentioning the eucalyptus oil in vicks, but it was just a random person on a comment board so who knows.
Lauren, it is funny how we all had the twins thought. I bet someone will (not it!). Haha.
Anna, I think the way I understand it, fraternal twins can run in families (the woman releases multiple eggs), but identical twins are totally random and everyone has an equal chance. I might not be right though!
Jena, how exciting, congrats on being solidly into the second tri! I can't wait to get there! You are absolutely right about some people reacting strongly to female babies. I'm pretty sure this baby is a girl too, I've said that since day 1 but DH is insisting it's a boy. I think intend to be sensitive to hormones anyway. I've thrown up the first day of my period every single time since I started having periods. I think my body is just acutely aware of the hormones present and reacts. Next time DH acts like I'm being dramatic over symptoms I'm totally pullling the princess Kate card and insisting he treat me like a princess too haha!

I cloth diaper my dd. I love it. Fluff love & CD science, on Facebook. They will help you work out an awesome wash routine, how to fix any stink or leek issues, fit checks, help direct for brands. My favorite are lil helpers, funky fluff, and bum genius. Just try not to get caught up in the addiction. I do also have some covers, inserts and profiles. I would recommend starting off with a mix of diapers. You don't know what you'll like till you've tried it in real life.

Okay, maybe this is a silly question, but I envision a sprayer being "splashy" and getting water everywhere. Please tell me it isn't as bad as I am imagining! Its okay to place them wet from spraying into the Pail for washing..they wont get moldy after a day?

Poohmama- hoping everything is fine!!! Thursday can't come soon enough!
I don't know much about cloth diapers but I do know even with disposables they aren't one size fits all- so that would make sense if you were to favor different ones based on babies size and shape:)
One book that helped me A LOT- I pretty much registered for everything based off of it is baby bargains. They list every baby item you could possibly need or want and then have moms rate them on many different things- safety, durability, price, weight, convineance- so each product and brand has a rating - they also give their top three choices in every category:) I was wondering the same things what do I need what don't I? How many onsies do I need? Pairs of socks? Etc- it's all in there!!! I actually just bought the most updated version as I believe they come out with one once a year!
