December 4, 2020 at 1:22 amHi - this is my first chart after a MC at 7 weeks (the “period” starting this cycle is the days I had bleeding related to the MC). My normal pre-MC luteal phase was 10-11 days and everything I read says LP could be shorter after MC but not longer. All my pregnancy tests are starkly negative from 10-12 dpo. I had very clear signs of ovulation with both a temp rise and a lot of EWCM so just trying to figure out where my period is or if anyone has insight.

With missing temps for most of teh first part of your cycle, it's hard for me to say if CD 17 was actual ovulation.

Is it possible that ovulation occurred later or hasn't happen yet? I am not seeing a thermal shift in your temps yet to make an educated guess on when ovulation may have occured.

I temped on and off post-MC and the temps were all around 97.4 (that is pretty consistent for me anyway for pre-rise and then on the day my period starts). So I feel pretty confident the marked day was ovulation. I've temped for a few years and had very noticeable EWCM for a few days and then the rise the next day. If I didn't have the negative pregnancy tests, I would be sure I was pregnant because I am having the same symptoms I had when very very early pregnant with my daughter and with this recent MC. But maybe somehow the MC messed with the length of my luteal phase and made it longer than usual?

I would think having a miscarriage could cause some changes in your first cycle back. I would keep temping to make sure you don't miss any changes in your temps and take another pregnancy test if needed.

I hope you get some clearer answers here soon!

December 7, 2020 at 8:00 amHere is an update -- I still had high temps today at 16dpo but another negative pregnancy test this morning. I went back to the TCOYF book and it seems like the only explanations could be: 1) I didn't ovulate, 2) I have LUFS or something else super weird going on, 3)I am pregnant but urine pregnancy tests aren't working for me.

I can think of reasons why each isn't true...1) I had clear EWCM and a temp rise, 2)I have had previous pregnancies, 3) I have had previous pregnancies test positive using home urine tests.

So strange. Thought I'd share in case anyone else is in this boat and welcome any insights others may have.

Are you using a BBT specific thermometer?

There looks to be an ovulation day detected, but it is possible your body geared up for ovulation and wasn't successful. You may see another ovulation trend.

You could also see if you could get a blood test from your doctor if the urine tests continue to show up negative.

December 7, 2020 at 12:53 pmThanks Andrea! This is really helpful. I am using a BBT but it does seem like ovulation somehow didn't really happen. I'm going to give it a few more days and see if I get my period, and, if not, I'll call my doc.

December 9, 2020 at 7:40 amFinal update, I got my period on day 16, with a temp drop on day 17. I'm relieved I don't have a cyst or something weirder. I assume I just still had high progesterone levels post-MC messing with my usual LP length.
