No BBT spike

November 11, 2020 at 10:27 pmI started charting this month but I have not seen a temperature spike despite some obvious fertility signs. Does that mean I haven’t ovulated yet, that I am not going to ovulate since it’s day 20, or is it possible to ovulate without a BBT spike to follow?

Helpful background info: I took out the progesterone heavy hormonal IUD October 20th, three days before the period that began this cycle started. I’ve been on IUD for about a year, and I’ve been told it takes time for hormones to regulate after having it out. Maybe that’s what is effecting my BBT this cycle? However my period starting right after IUD seemed to be a good thing, and it was right on schedule (I had regular periods on the IUD). We are using TCOYF as birth control for the next three months and then will shift to TTC.

I’m realizing there is a bigger learning curve to this than I expected. Any help appreciated!

It looks like there is a possible ovulation day on CD 19, but you still need a few more higher temps over the next couple of days for that to populate. BBT is retroactive so you won't get a notification of likely ovulation until about 4 days after ovulation has occured.

It can take a few months for your body to regulate after being on HBC. How long is your cycle typically? You may see a 31-34 day cycle this time around.

I thought it was going to be a more dramatic thermal shift, like the day after O, so it’s good to know to give it four days to confirm. My cycle was 29-31 days on HBC, but this is my first natural cycle since before I got pregnant in October 2018, so we shall see!

November 12, 2020 at 3:13 pmYou are so welcome! You need a .2 - .4 degree rise. Once ovulation is detected, it will look clearer with the coverline as well.
