How are you feeling? I've had terrible morning sickness and been feeling rather horrible. I have my second US next week and my first trimester testing. Then next Sunday I'm into the second trimester! Can't believe it's gone so quickly

Sorry to hear you are suffering... so you are in week 11 now? Hoping you will start feeling some relief as you get to/past week 12 and enter the second trimester! Are you starting to show yet, or is it more that you know your belly and can tell but others can’t?
I’m coming up for 9 weeks on the weekend. Baby bean has been gentle with my ol’ body so far and I am grateful. The worst part early on was the VERY sore boobs. Cramping was a little more often up until a couple of weeks ago but usually didn’t last long. I’ve had a bit of nausea but more because of the complete slow-down some days of my digestive system. Very uncomfortable gut, which then leads to that feeling of malaise. I’ve quickly learned to load up on veggies or fruits and fibre-rich food instead of “heavy” stuff and and to keep the portion sizes down- that all really seems to help... and wow, I never realized how bloated a belly can get!! Some days I have already felt like I’m “showing” but it is just bloat - which is sometimes back down to normal in a day or two. I’ve been reading that these symptoms are all a little more “wonky” and out of control in the first trimester, so I’m looking forward to a hopefully smoother second ;)

Agree about the fruit, they seem to be the only thing I can stomach without feeling nauseated. Luckily I haven't had much bloating so I am grateful for that. It is probably because I am eating about a quarter of what I usually eat...
When I look at my belly I can see a tiny bit of change just under my bra line I seem to be protruding out a bit. I don't think anyone else would notice though.

Yes, it sounds like I am almost exactly 2 weeks behind you! You are SOOOO close to the end of the trimester. I know a week seems like a lot, but it will be done before you know it :)
This week I am going to be looking into pregnancy yoga on YouTube. My core strength has always been terrible... I also need to kick myself and get some more walking going on (I normally aim for 5,000 fitbit "steps" 3x a week which is not a lot by any means, but certainly better than none).

Late to the Show - Thanks for making this thread. I felt bad derailing, but still wanted to chat with you guys.
I do the weekly yoga from Harlow's Earth on youtube. They've made all weeks free due to covid, when I think it used to only be weeks 4-12. I do it like 3 times a week.
Guess who gets her rhogam shot early due to some bleeding? I'm not very excited, but if it'll help Bebe be okay, it'll be fine. It was terrifying seeing blood for the first time since my lmp, but thankfully it was probably just a bit of placental irritation. I'm just grateful it wasn't worse.

I'm excited to have joined the group! I'm not noticing any symptoms yet, except for being extra thirsty.
Good tip on the fiber rich fruits and veggies! I've also read to make sure to include iron, like spinach. I dont know if DH will be on board with that, but anything for our little babe!

Starrylari - sorry to hear about your bleeding. That must have been very scary for you! Glad to hear you are well though and getting treatment.
Aja - congratulations and welcome to the club! So exciting for you and I am so pleased to hear your good news!

It was terrifying, but I got my rhogam shot, so hopefully everything will be good now. It wasn't bad, but I hope you guys are all rh+, so you don't have to deal with it anyway.
And since my husband was allowed to be with me, unlike my normal appointments, he did get to hear Bebe's heartbeat in person, so I guess that's a positive.
I feel like the universe needs to let me pass my glucose test on Thursday after that scare, though!

StarryLari: No fun having to have extra procedures, but at least this means you should be all good now. x AND what a nice bonus, that your hubby got to hear the heartbeat. Awww :). Good luck on your glucose test - keep positive! But it is also good that they now know and can treat for these potential problems, and they don't have to become the life-threatening issues they once could have been.
Our dating ultrasound last Thursday was pretty surreal, but there is definitely a little bean in there (and only one bean - which put my hubby's mind at rest as he is a twin...haha). Bean had a very visible little heart fluttering away, and I felt very "proud." I still can't believe that what was on the screen was inside of me though! And the due date DID get slightly adjusted, by just one day: to April 18th! :) 18 has always been my lucky number, and myself, my brother and my dad all have birthdays on the 18th of our months. I know it isn't likely to be when baby shows up, but the number for me is somehow "comforting."
I have my first prenatal appointment with my new baby-doctor tomorrow. None of the female doctors were accepting patients at this time, so it is a guy... but then again, I have had male doctors for most of my life (but would go to the women's clinic with female doctors for my PAP tests...heh) and it was a male doctor who delivered me back in the day so...

Aja - it makes me so so happy to see you in this group!
Starrilary - sorry to hear about the bleeding but so glad you were able to get it taken care of quickly! Good luck on your glucose test this week!!
MishDVH - I hadn't really had any symptoms until this Saturday. I ate breakfast and about an hour later, I had horrible nausea all day! after that I could only eat 4 saltine crackers and club soda, but it went away in the evening and had some dinner just fine. I'm starting to realized that eating small meals/portions is going to be best for me.

I have been having a lot more digestive slowdown & some nausea this past 2 weeks. I can’t complain though, and I definitely notice I feel MUCH better if I load up on fruit, veggies and fibre instead of carbs or fatty food. I’m also having trouble with the smell of garlic, but somehow that isn’t surprising (garlic to me always brings to mind “heavy” food).
Oh, and another recommendation: lemon in water (hot with a bit of honey, or just plain in cool water) is quickly becoming my go-to. It seems to help with digestion, the smell (lemon oil) eases nausea, and it just generally “refreshes.” We bought a nice big bag of lemons yesterday and I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to lemons this much! ;)

So exciting that your US went well and you started to tell people. Same to you, MarMar! My DH wants to start telling people right away, but I put the kibosh on that. It's still so early for us, I'm not confident enough to say anything to anyone yet.
My doctor recommended that I get a Beta blood test. I have one draw tomorrow and another 48 hours later. The purpose is to see if my levels are growing at a desirable rate. I know not everyone gets one, so I'm not sure why they recommended one for me. Hopefully by Friday everything will come back good and normal, and then I can breathe.

I was so frustrated and angry at myself after that news. I had gone into the appointment FINALLY feeling a bit positive about the whole thing, and then *BAM*. Needless to say, I had a bit of a cry when I got home... and several days later I am STILL unable to stop thinking and worrying about it.

In positive news, I apparently rocked my glucose test! I needed to be under 135 and my number was 67. Not even close or borderline. So at least I can have all the cake while waiting to see if my placenta moves (the ultrasound I got at midnight during my l&d trip came back inconclusive). We check again in three weeks.

LateToTheShow I am sorry to hear about your fibroids. Hopefully they will settle in an unobstructive position. I can imagine how emotional it must have been to get the news. How did the rest of the US go?
I had an US on Thursday. It was very lovely and pleased to report that everything is on track nicely at the moment. Due date has moved to 2 April... Feel like it is creep close and close to March - which I am not prepared for!
Starrylari good news on your glucose and yay for cake! My sugar intake have aout tripled since getting pregnant! So I am very worried about my glucose levels. I have managed to loose weight since getting pregnant, which just confirms how awful my morning sic has been!
I hope everyone else is well and feeling strong!

I found a hypnosis/meditation on youtube that's supposed to help resolve placenta previa. I don't know if it'll wprk, but I figure it can't hurt.
Sorry to hear you've had such bad morning sickness, Mish! I think at this point, anything you can keep down counts as a win. And hopefully you're to the point where it will start abating soon.

LateToTheShow: Glad you kept your original name :) But am so sorry about your US news. I’m hoping the best for you!! Keep us updated.
starrylari: Neat you passed your glucose test with flying colors and can eat ALL the cake...lol. I had a huge sweet tooth before I got pregnant and now can hardly stand sweet stuff. I try a bit and then am like “ugh”.
Mish: I can relate to the morning sickness except it’s been evening sickness for me or sometimes all day. I have found if I eat smaller meals and more frequently, it helps. But I am so so tired of crackers!!
Had my first US last week. Heard little one’s heart beat and actually let myself believe that maybe everything is going to be ok. Have another appointment in about 3 weeks or so. And it will be a little longer appontment if I understand right.
All the best to you, ladies.

Starrylari: OMG, I want some of your cake!!!! :D Yum yum!!! Might have to bake some cupcakes to satisfy my hankering now. hehe
Welcome Kokie, and congrats!! With a due date of April 30th, you may find that you do indeed end up with an April baby, as it can go 2 weeks EITHER side of that.
I am REALLY wanting mine to show up on its due date of April 18th as almost my whole family has birthdays on the 18th, including myself... but even at the first appointment with the baby-doctor he's all "We will induce you at 39 weeks because of your age." Ummm... I am not even believing I'm pregnant yet and already you are telling me this? Maybe we should see HOW it goes... I was a bit miffed. I understand WHY induction can be necessary (a baby going beyond-term can cause added complications at delivery, placenta can degrade, etc), but I REALLY want this baby to come out more on its own terms (also I have read that induction can lead to much more painful labour - you can bet I'm going to be looking up that Raspberry Leaf Tea "labour day" method to try and avoid it at all costs!!).
The ultrasound itself was a good experience. I didn't go all weepy and cry thankfully (I was too desperate to get through it and finally go pee!). I had trouble believing that the little fluttering, moving thing I was seeing on the screen was actually inside of me! But the measurements were spot-on, my due date only off by 1 day, and Baby Bean's little heart had a good heart rate.
And thanks everyone - I am slowly starting to relax about the fibroid issue. The way I see it, the biggest problem they usually cause is that they can impede conception/be a fertility issue. I found an article online from 2017 about a 10-year study which says that contrary to what medical science previously thought, they proved that fibroids during pregancy made NO effect on the likelihood of miscarriage. I might be in for a bit more pain if things start getting constricted, but I will hope for the best outcome and just have to cross that bridge when I come to it. So... Baby Bean is just going to have to stand up to the idiot "roomates", and not let them boss him around! ;)

Sorry I have been a bit quiet lately. I love reading about all of the positivity you have going on with your beans! I hope that positivity gets shifted my way.
Last week when I called my doctor to inquire about next steps, I was informed I would need a beta blood test. My first test came back great, but the results of my 2nd test came back not quite as high as what they like to see, and they wanted to do a 3rd test Monday (yesterday). I started freaking out! I went to see my acupuncturist the next day, who basically told me not to put too much weight into the test. Ultimately I decided that I was upset they ordered the test in the first place and chose not to have the 3rd one done. I'm choosing to believe that everything is fine and dandy, and will wait until our first appointment (with a whole different clinic because I was so annoyed) to find out what's really going on in there. My appointment isnt until Oct. 8th though, so I will need to be patient and try to relax until then. Its stressful to think something could already be going awry when only a few weeks ago I was jumping for joy at a BFP. Sigh, I suppose the waiting doesnt end after the initial 2 weeks.

LateToTheShow - they didn't have you pee before your ultrasound? I thought my bladder was supposed to be full, too, but my practice always wants it empty (which I don't mind at all!). I'm glad you're feeling better about your fibroids and weird that they already want to induce you early just for age. Hopefully you'll have a perfectly low risk pregnancy and they'll change their minds.
Aja- that does sound scary. I just assumed betas were done for everyone and couldn't believe all I had to go on was a pee stick before I could be seen, but I guess different places do different things. Fingers crossed for your little bean in there.

Welcome Kokie! Wishing you all the best for your pregnancy.
Aja, I am sorry to hear about your blood test scare. Like Starrylari I was never asked to do blood tests and was told a positive pregnancy test was all the proof anyone needed! I think you have made the right decision to refuse a third test though. It’s so important to do what feels right to you!
Glad you are feeling better about the fibroids LateToTheShow, I think we all get a bit hysterical over any hiccup that it is good to take a step back and do your own research.

Having said that, in my situation, I only seem to have the option of the Dr. I am currently seeing OR insist on going to an OBGYN, which I have read can be even MORE clinical. Because of my age, I don't qualify for Midwife care, which is a shame because I REALLY have a problem with these overly-clinical doctors and would probably do much better with someone who had a more "caring" or natural/knowledgable approach. So far mine has looked at my age but not factored in my ACTUAL general health, and made "recommendations" (which sound more like ORDERS) based solely on that. He is even acting like I already have pre-eclampsia and talking about the relevant birth-options which will have to be modified accordingly because of this... We don't even know if that is the case yet!! I will see how the next visit goes in 3 weeks and if I come out of THAT one crying, I may need to inquire about my remaining options if there are any. :-/
Mish: I can't believe you are already finishing your first trimester! WOW!! Congratulations! Hopefully your morning sickness will start to abate soon!!
