December 20, 2017 at 8:55 amWe're not trying to conceive yet, but I want my body in good health and ready to have a baby sooner rather than later. I have trouble with yeast and my thyroid - both of which I know can influence fertility. I have not gotten a full blood panel yet (long story short, I was having unusual bleeding, went to the obgyn with hopes of a full blood panel on hormones, iron, and thyroid and he told me nothing was wrong and to just deal with it). I hate the idea of being on thyroid medicine for the rest of my life like my Mom and aunt - I'm only 22 and generally take pretty good care of my body! Does anyone know of some good natural ways of taking care of the thyroid and/or yeast? Just started trying essential oils for the thyroid (it's intermittently very inflamed - I can feel tightness in my throat). The blend I use right now includes lemongrass, clove, peppermint, and Frankinsense. Recipe also had myrrh oil, but it's not in the budget yet. Any tips would be wonderful! Thank you!

So an inflamed thyroid usually indicates a bacterial/viral infection. The oils you are using are great! You can also do what’s called oil pulling. Just swish coconut oil (which has antibacterial/microbial properties) around in your mouth for 5-10 mins and spit it out- do not swallow! If you can do longer, go for it!
Here are some articles below for oils to use for the yeast and to balance hormones.
So did you get any blood work done?
I, like yourself, am trying to ramp my body up for pregnancy in the future bc I’ve always had a lot of gynecological issues and feared infertility. And recently I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism (level = 4.51) and my sex hormones were out of whack. I’m now taking herbal supplements; a yam-based progesterone, red velvet deer antler for testerone, and Premier Research Labs’ Adrenaven for my adrenals/thyroid. If you are concerned about your thyroid health and aren’t getting help from your doc; you should read up on it on Dr. Axe’s website. He’s a medical doctor with a purely holistic approach and his articles are amazing! He has numerous ones on the thyroid. Hope this helps!!
